Worldwide Security
EWI works in several areas that have serious implications for global security. We bring together high-level thought leaders and policymakers to develop fresh ideas and strategies to defuse potential areas of conflict and secure critical infrastructure.
Our current initiatives:
Climate Security
EWI is working with leaders, specialists and governments around the world to develop preventive responses to political instability caused by climate change.
Counterterrorism
EWI works to build consensus on how governments can work more effectively to counter terrorism and protect civilians, not just from terrorists, but also from imprecise counterterrorism operations.
Countering Violent Extremism
EWI works to raise awareness among policymakers and opinion leaders about the root causes of extremism and to develop strategies to address them.
Cybersecurity
The three-year cybersecurity initiative is designed to strengthen global information and communications infrastructure through the exchange of effective methods to detect, prevent, and respond to threats to information systems.
Energy Security
EWI works to address global fears about access to resources and energy by rebuilding confidence in international rules and cooperative approaches that reconcile competing stakeholder interests.
Worldwide Security Conference
The annual Worldwide Security Conference is a platform to reframe perceptions of international security threats and opportunities.
