Seventh Annual Worldwide Security Conference to Focus on Afghanistan and Cybersecurity

BRUSSELS. February 3. The EastWest Institute's seventh annual Worldwide Security Conference on February 18, 2010 will bring together security experts from government, business, civil society and media to spur collective action on the world's most pressing security concerns. The main focus of the conference will be on cybersecurity and the stability of Afghanistan, two of the most formidable challenges for global stability. It will also feature speakers on topics such as counterterrorism, energy security and economic risk management.

Select participants will be available at two press conferences, one on Afghanistan (February 18, 11:30 a.m - 12:30 p.m.) and another on cybersecurity (February 18, 1:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.) The EastWest Institute can also help schedule individual interviews.

The Seventh Annual Worldwide Security Conference is co-hosted with the World Customs Organization and the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its capacity as 2010 Chair of the G8. In past years, the Worldwide Security Conference has attracted more than 500 participants from dozens of countries around the world.
